1) How early in advance should
we register for tuxedos for our wedding?
We recommend coming in as soon as possible. The best deals
on tuxedos are always early in the calendar year (January thru
March.) Remember, April and May is our "prom season".
Often weddings choose to avoid coming in to register at this
most busy, hectic time. Couples on an average register for
tuxedos 2 to 4 months before their wedding. You want to leave
enough time for everyone in the party to be measured. Members
of the party should be fitted 4 to 6 weeks prior to the event.
2) What's in?
Black tuxedos are still by far the most popular color for jacket
and pants. The latest styles include 4 and 5 button jackets,
collarless coats, and jackets that are longer in length
(either 3/4 or to the knee). Full back vests are the norm
now for weddings and proms. Windsor ties, instead of bow
ties, have also become very fashionable. Weddings are also
choosing to keep their accessories (vest and ties) very
neutral. The groom and the ring bearer often wear a white
vest, the groomsmen often go with a grey/silver color,
and the fathers often wear a charcoal grey or a black vest.
The current trend is to pick a vest that will compliment
the color of the girls¥ dresses, but not necessarily
match them. We have also seen a decline over the years
in tail tuxedos, double breasted tuxedos and the mandarin
collar shirt with the button cover.
3) If we have out of town men
in our party, how do they go about getting fitted?
All tuxedo stores have customers that are coming from out of
town. We all understand that customers need to be fitted for
other places. Just let your out of town guests know that they
need to go to their local tuxedo shop and ask for out of town
measurements. Most stores will not mind at all, if you ask
nicely, and call ahead to find out a non-busy time.
4) When do we come in for our
final fitting?
We recommend coming in on Thursday evening (the Thursday right
before the wedding) for all wedding party members that are
in town. The out of town members should come in as soon as
they arrive. As long as the tuxedo is tried on 24 hours in
advance to the event, corrections and alterations can be made.
5) What sizes do you carry?
Our rental sizes run from a boy's 3 to man's 76 long in jacket
sizes. We also have baby tuxedos available for sale in
sizes 3 months to 3T (they are absolutely adorable!)
6) What specials do you have
for weddings?
We recommend either going to our website for this information
or calling the store. The specials do change throughout the
year with the best deals occurring January through March.
